My name is Diana Slabu, I am 33 years old and have been a scout for 23 years, as a member of the National Organisation of the Romanian Scouts and specifically, the Cluj-Napoca local Scout group.

My name is Diana Slabu, I am 33 years old and have been a scout for 23 years, as a member of the National Organisation of the Romanian Scouts and specifically, the Cluj-Napoca Local Scout Group.

Where I come from...

I am an only child and my parents are smart, caring, funny, and hard-working people that have always valued lifelong learning and were amazing role models for me growing up. I gained a curiosity for the human body from my mother, who is an extremely passionate doctor, and who had a talent for explaining complicated processes of the human body in a very simple way so that I could understand them as a child.

Where I come from...

I was born and raised in Cluj-Napoca, a vibrant and charming city in the North-Western part of Romania, that was recognised in 2015 as a European Youth Capital due to its active youth community.

I studied General Medicine in university, became a medic and went on to specialise in Pediatrics, a choice that helped me pursue and understand more related to my broader interest: The development of children and young people from Birth to the young adult age - the search for the answer to my first big question: “what are the elements that make us who we are?”

When I want to relax, I spend time with my family and friends. I also love reading, playing the guitar, singing, hiking, traveling, and generally, exploring different cultures and communities. I love history and story-telling, so if you will visit new places with me, you will probably catch me going through tourist books, visiting the museums that are best at telling the stories about the place I’m at, or chatting with locals.
