Anticipating the Needs of Future Generations

Children and young people have suffered many changes in their lives during the past two years, because of online or hybrid systems of education, mental health issues (pre-existing or triggered by the pandemic and ensuing isolation), less opportunities for a healthy lifestyle, and fewer opportunities to develop socially. Additionally, there are many topics that have become very important for children and young people nowadays such as: the urgent need for climate action, digitalisation and its opportunities and threats, online safety, acceptance and inclusion, gender identity, the need for educational opportunities that prepare them for the job market of tomorrow and many others.

Prepared for the Future

In response to these many questions raised by our members, the Scout Movement responds by offering relevant educational opportunities and the necessary support for children and young people to create positive change in their communities from an early age.

Staying Relevant

How do we make sure that we continue to adapt to the needs of young people?

By offering support to all of our member organisations that are undergoing renewals of their Youth Programme and/or Adult training/ Management of Volunteers in Scouting policies and educational platforms
By encouraging competency-based, youth-led programmes, so that young people acquire the necessary tools and leadership skills to create projects on the topics that matter most to them and have a positive impact on their communities
By providing spaces where we can build partnerships and events that address these topics and that give young people a platform and help them find their voice to advocate for them
